US based tech giant Apple has denied some of the earlier reports that the prices of iPhones in India will be hiked by 29%. The earlier reports had mentioned that the changes were being made for making up for the SE’s poor response. Apple has clarified that the original prices of the iPhones are available on the official website.
One of the leading publications reported that the US tech giant had a meeting with the top executives and key distributors in India regarding the launch of the SE. One of the source informed that the stock of the SE was kept at a low level and that a strategy is being worked out to pitch the device more effectively.
More reports added that that the iPhone 6 after the hike would cost Rs. 40,000 and then iPhone 6S will be priced at Rs. 48,000. Even the iPhone 5S was made pricey by 22% and that would bring the price to about Rs. 22,000 against the current price of Rs. 18,000.
Another report had stated that Apple is not planning to manufacture a large number of the iPhone SE that was launched to offset the slump of its flagship series. Apple is reportedly facing a slow sales of the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6s Plus that forced the company to lower the production for the quarter January – March.
