Auto giant Figo has announced that it has slashed the prices of its Figo Aspire and Figo vehicles to make them even more competitive in the market. The new prices have been introduced in order to increase the sales.
Ford India had earlier slashed the prices of its EcoSport in March, 2016 by up to 1.12 lakh. This happened just two days after competitor Maruti Suzuki launched its SUV Vitara Brezza with a starting price of Rs. 6.99. The company has slashed prices of its Aspire and Figo amidst a time when two top companies Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motor India have announced a prince hike across various models by up to Rs. 20,000.
Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai had announced a price hike due to rising input costs and rupee depreciation. In recent times it had noticed a 17 percent decline in the January-June period and even the hatchback segment was marginally down by 1 percent during the same period.
However, the prices of the base versions of the cars have been left untouched. The other variants will now be cheaper by Rs. 25,000 – Rs. 91,000. The next generation Figo’s top end version will cost by Rs. 30,000 at Rs. 6,28,700. The new prices of the vehicles will be applicable with immediate effect.
