Tech giant Nokia, which was once a leader in the smartphone business, has confirmed that it is all set to re-enter the smartphone business. Nokia was once a leader in the smartphone market but was gradually left behind due to intense competition from other companies. Now tech enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for the upcoming Nokia smartphone.
Some of the rumours and leaked images have hinted that Nokia is getting serious in terms of smartphones and might even re-enter in 2017. The Capital Markets Day presentation chart has pointed out towards the company’s plans in 2016,2017 and 2018. For the year 2017, it has been mentioned that the company will be returning as the mobile brand with a possibility of expanding the VR leadership along with digital health brand transition and patent licensing for expansion in mobile, consumer electronics and automotive.
For the year 2016, the company has listed the launch of its OZO VR camera that we have already seen earlier in the year. Nokia also acquired Withings, Samsung license agreement expansion and patent licensing. Nokia has plans to include VR technology expansion growth in remote patient care in Digital Health and continued licensing growth and diversification. Nokia CEO, Rajeev Suri’s MWC 2017 keynote has hinted towards the possibility of the smartphone announcement being made at the tech show. Some of the analysts have already predicted a successful return of Nokia.
Teasers of the Nokia D1C has been popping p every now and then and it is believed that it might be the upcoming smartphone. The teasers shows the back of the phone with an image sensor, LED flash and a Nokia logo at the centre. It has also hinted that the gold edition will have a fingerprint sensor because the gold edition seems to have a dedicated home button.
