During times when Reliance Jio is ruling in the telecom industry, state owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) announced the launch of its new Rs. 144 plan for its subscribers. The new offer will feature unlimited free calls and more.
The new plan by BSNL is valid for six months and will have unlimited STD and local calls to any network for a period of one month. Anupam Srivastava , the chairman and managing director at BSNL said that the plan will also come with 300 MB data. The offer is for both pre-paid as well as postpaid customers. Amidst a time when other telecom companies are coming up with competitive prices, BSNL too is taking efforts by handing over two new packs for its subscribers.
The telecom provider is also taking initiatives to launch 4,400 wi fi hotspots across India. Srivastava said, “We have 4,400 Wi-Fi hotspots launched country wide. I think in Mahabalipuram near Chennai has a similar Wi-Fi hotspots. Our immediate strategy is to expand this. In next one year, we will be having around 40,000 Wi-Fi hotspots across the country”. Moreover, BSNL has also obtained 2500MHZ from the government of India for launching the services in the rural areas.
The Managing director has added that BSNL will also unveil classic LTE (Long Term Evolution) spectrum in a phased manner.
