Dilip Kumar

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, who was admitted at the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, has been discharged. The 94 year old actor was undergoing treatment for kidney related problems and was at the hospital for about a week. Dilip Kumar was seen wearing a pink shirt as he was being carried in a wheel chair and was accompanied by wife Saira Banu.

The discharge of the legendary actor has come as a good news for the fans who were worried about the health of the actor. A happy wife Saira before getting discharged, Tweeted, “By the grace of Allah, Dilip Sahab is under the care of Dr. Nitin Gokhale, Dr. Arun Shah of Lilavati Hospital and Sahab’s personal family physicians Dr. R.C. Sharma and Dr. S. Gokhale, along with the able input of Dr. S.D. Bapat. This excellent team has given the green signal to take Sahab home today”

Banu also thanked the fans for their prayers, doctors for the expert treatment and the personal staff and attendants for the care. Dilip Kumar was admitted to the hospital on August 2, 2017 after he suffered from dehydration urinary tract infection. There were reports that high creatinine and potassium levels might increase the possibility of putting him on dialysis. However, the doctors decided not to put him on dialysis after the actor responded well to the treatment.

Udaya Tara, the one who compiled Dilip’s autobiography informed that all his levels are under control. The actor was last seen on the silver screens in the film Qila in 1998. He was also honoured with the Dadasahab Phalke Award in 1994 and received the Padma Vibhushan in 2015. Dilip Kumar is known for some of the blockbuster films like Mughal-e-Azam, Devdas and Karma.
