Asia Bizz: Apple Sues Motorola Over Patent Violations In Smartphones
Apple Inc. has reportedly filed two lawsuits against Motorola Inc. late on Friday in Wisconsin, on the grounds of violations of its patents in several of Motorola ‘s smartphones, which even include the famous Droid line.
Sources state that in the nine-page complaint lists filed by Apple in a US federal court, the iPhone-maker has accused Motorola on infringing Apple’s intellectual property, and three of which focus on touchscreens. The reported devices named in the complaint are “Motorola’s Droid, Droid 2, Droid X, Cliq, Cliq XT, BackFlip, Devour A555, Devour i1, and Charm.”
There are also reports that Motorola, on the other hand, has filed 2 patent infringement lawsuits against Steve Job’s Apple citing violations in the iTouch, iPad, as well as the iPhone range.
Reports state that the case is “Apple Inc. v Motorola Inc., 10-CV-662, in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.” (Bloomberg)
