Asia Bizz: Indiana’s Unemployment Rate Drops 0.1 Percent To 10.1 Percent In September

Indiana’s unemployment rate reportedly fell a little to 10.1 percent in September, and stats suggest that around 298,000 people are still without a job, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

The report of Indiana’s unemployment rate, which was released on October 22nd by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, showed Indiana’s September rate falling one-tenth of 1 percent as compared to the August rate of 10.2 percent.

Mark W. Everson, commissioner of the state agency said, “Any drop in the unemployment rate is welcome news.” He added, “On a year-to-date basis, Indiana continues to be a leader in private sector job growth.”

In addition to the above, the report also stated that the total private-sector employment fell in September, while over the year, the state made provisions for 43,100 private-sector jobs – which is a jump to 1.9 percent.
