Harley-Davidson., by far the biggest U.S. Motorcycle giant, has planned to formally enter the motorcycle market in India, where it expects to start selling its world class motorcycles by next year 2010.
The company has established a subsidiary in Gurgaon, near Delhi, and has begun the process of seeking dealers across the country.
Harley-Davidson at first will set up dealerships in cities including Mumbai and New Delhi as it aims to tap demand from the affluent for models such as Fat Boy and Cross Bones cruiser models, which can cost more than $40,000 in the U.S. when customized. Lets wait and see how much these models will cost in India and I doubt the common man will afford it.
