Asia Bizz: Harley Davidson will be launching two new bikes which will be priced around Rs.6.5 Lakhs, from its upcoming plant in Bawal Haryana by sometime in the year 2011. The new models that will be rolling out next year are SuperLow and 883 Iron, which will be priced at Rs.5.5 Lakh and Rs.6.5 Lakh each. These bikes will be arriving in CKD’s and would be distributed in India from its Bawal plant.
Harley-Davidson is having great plans about India, as it will be opening an assembly plant in the country for the first time in Asia, making it only the second assembly plant outside the US except in Brazil. India is a huge market for motorcycles and companies from around the world are approaching India, so that they could sell their vehicles in this country.
Both the bikes will be on sale through the Harley dealerships across India, and the bookings will be commencing from the month of January 2011. For the moment the company has not defined the capacity of the plant in Bawal, it will only be disclosed when the bikes begin to roll out from there.
