Asia Bizz: The BMW X1 SUV has been launched in India and it is till date the cheapest BMW to be launched on Indian roads, it is priced between Rs.22-29 lakhs. The German luxury car maker is doing very well in India and today it is one of the biggest market in the Asian continent.
The cheapest of all is the petrol version BMW X1 sDrive 18i costing Rs.22 lakhs, then the other two diesel variants, the X1 sDrive 20d and the X1 sDrive 20d Exclusive are priced Rs. 23.90 lakhs and Rs. 29 lakhs respectively. The above prices are exact prices available all over India.
The Diesel engine will be pumping out 177 bhp and the petrol version will trot 150 bhp. As the power in the diesel variant is in excess to the petrol version, the diesel engine takes the vehicle from a 0 to 100kmph in just 8.3 secs, where as the petrol engine does it in 10.4 secs.
The BMW X1 is not a thirsty vehicle at all as it consumes 15.24 kmpl and the petrol engine 11.24 kmpl. BMW Germany is expecting the vehicle to do exceptionally well in the Indian market as it has been priced relatively low. The vehicle will be assembled at the Chennai Plant, which was set up back in the year 2007.
