Asia Bizz: The second largest car manufacturer in China, Volkswagen AG, is reportedly looking forward to build a new local car for its Chinese customers. The Volkswagen group says that it is currently in talks with the Chinese authorities, so it could begin working on a new car. This move by Volkswagen comes after many companies have decided to rush into the Chinese market.

Volkswagen looks to partner with SAIC Motor Corp and China FAW Group Corp, to develop a new car for the country. It is not some special initiative that Volkswagen has taken, rather it is something that most car manufacturers around the world tend to do,– serve the domestic market with their wants.

Nissan, Honda and General Motors have already stepped into China’s shores and have partnered with local car companies to bring in their own variants for the customers. Even Daimler, a German car manufacturing giant, has already invested millions of dollars in China, in a bid to satisfy the domestic market.
