Asia Bizz: US-based computer chip manufacturer, AMD has launched the Fusion APU in India — it is the latest offering by AMD for India. As per the company, this new processor has better speed and graphics dedication compared to the previous AMD’s. The Fusion has both features of a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) and also a CPU, two functions on one single chip-  which is indeed revolutionary.

The company said in a  statement that consumers from India will eliminate the want of choosing between a GPU’s performance and a CPU’s power. The AMD Fusion will debut on Sony, HP , Dell , Lenovo , Asus , MSI and Toshiba based products during the first half of 2011.

As of now, the price of the processor has not yet been disclosed, but the company quotes it is aimed at the reasonably priced market of processors in India. It will power a number of notebooks and desktops, but there was no news regarding Fusion for Netbooks. The Fusion is a multi-core processor which exactly falls in the APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) category. One of the most exciting features of the Fusion is that it will prove to be very reasonable for notebooks, as it will feature an all day power saving technology and capability.
