Asia Bizz: Dell Inc. has launched the Venue and Venue Pro smartphones in the Indian market, and to everyone’s surprise, these phones are running on the Windows Phone 7 operating system. According to the latest reports, Dell has decided it will launch these phones along with Aircel, a major wireless carrier in India.

The Dell Venue has a 4.1inch AMOLED touch screen with 3.5G technology, running on the Android 2.2 FroYo; sharpness and clarity has been increased due to the Gorilla Glass curvature. The Venue Pro on the other hand, to is a WP7 phone, with the configurations similar to the Venue, but it comes with a 5MP camera, whereas the Venue has a more powerful 8MP camera.

The major difference between the Venue and the Venue Pro is that the Venue Pro is a QWERTY keypad phone, which slides out in style. The phones are priced on higher level in India and should be quite dear to many Indian customers. The Venue will reportedly start at around Rs.29,990 and the WP7 Venue Pro will cost aroud Rs.34,990 in the Indian market.
