Asia Bizz: Germany’s top luxury automotive manufacturers, Audi, BMW and Mercedes are consistently falling behind to supply their luxury cars in India as per the demand. It has been witnessed that waiting period for these cars takes up to six months in a stretch, which is quite uncomfortable for the customers. India is massive market for luxury cars and the country sells tens and thousands of these German marquees every year to their posh customers.

Models like the Porsche Cayenne, BMW X1, Audi A8 and Mercedes S500 are taking up to six months or even more, to get delivered to their respective customers; where this not the case in American or European countries.

Luxury car makers from around the world did not expect the demand for their vehicles to surge by such a great number in India. In the year 2010 alone, there were around 15,000 luxury cars in demand and this made the car companies go haywire. After China and the US, India has already become a major destination for luxury car brands, not only for German brands but Japanese and British autocars too.

The reason for the increase in demand for luxury cars in India is due to the higher levels of income that the newer generation of Indians have access to. With several Indians going in for higher eduction, their market value has witnessed a sharp increase, leading them to profitable jobs, and hence more money to purchase such cars.
