Asia Bizz: The ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 fever is set to soar to new heights with the launch of a Limited Edition Cricket World Cup LG Optimus One phone – which is part of the Android range. The phone has the World Cup 2011 logo etched in gold on the back and only 1000 pieces will be sold in 8 cities in India.
So how is this limited edition LG Optimus special? For starters, there are only a thousand units that will be sold and given the fact that cricket is considered to be a “religion” in India, only a few will be the privileged ones. As far as specs and features are concerned, the device is powered with Google’s Android 2.2 (Froyo) a 3 Megapixel camera, 3.2 inch touchscreen, internal memory of 170 MB (expandable to 32 GB memory with micro SD cards), a 600 MHz chip as well as features which support seamless access to social networking websites and apps.
With a price tag of Rs. 12,990, LG’s latest phone is set to take on a market in India which has not been tapped yet. Since no competitors have worked on anything similar, LG’s Optimus One will be a phone to reckon with!
The 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup is currently underway and matches will take place in the Asian countries of India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
