Asia Bizz: One of India’s biggest mobile telecom providers called Idea Cellular, recently launched their 3G services in the Indian states of Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. Idea has also introduced data and time-based billing plan for its 3G services.

Idea has also plans of rolling out its 3G services in around 200 towns by this April and further aims at around 4,000 towns by next year. Currently, Idea operated in 11 zones and is almost finalizing agreements to extend its 3G services in more zones.

3G services are just being spread out widely in India with all the other telecom providers having this facility available to their customers. 3G services allows users to surf at incredible speeds on the internet, as well as permits customers to make video calls.

Idea has also increased their marketing and advertising campaigns in India and their latest campaign is based on the ICC cricket World cup 2011, where all the winning captains from all the editions of the World Cup are featured in the ad telling a reporter to “Get Idea” due to her poor network coverage.

The current rivals of Idea’s 3G service in India are Airtel, Vodafone and Tata Docomo, and all of them are battling each other with aggressive TV commercials to get the most number of customers.
