Asia Bizz: Automobile manufacturer Volkswagen India has announced a price hike in the Vento, which is a mid-sized sedan’s diesel variant. The announcement of a 2.2 percent hike was announced on Monday.

The new prices of the mid sized sedan will be effective from 1st July to compensate for the higher input costs. The company in the statement also included that no hike in the petrol variant will be done.

The diesel variant of the sedan costs between 7.99 lakh and 9.24 lakh Indian Rupees, while the petrol version of the car costs between 6.99 lakh to 9.22 lakh. Neeraj Garg, the member of Board and Director of Volkswagen Group sales had explained that no relent in the input costs were seen in the recent months, due to which the company was forced to increase the costs of the Vento.

Garg also said that they realize that the customers, who prefer the petrol variants, are already facing the burden of the increased petrol costs. Hence the company had decided to continue to absorb the additional costs for the petrol variants of the car. For those who are planning to buy the car can book the car before 30th June so that they could get the car without the price hike.
