Asia Bizz: Chinese mobile-telecommunications equipment giant Huawei has announced their new 7-inch MediaPad tablet. The company has said that the tablet will be the world’s first 7-inch tablet which will be based on the famous Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system.

The tablet will be powered by a dual core 1.2 GHz supporter. In addition to this, the MediaPad will come with a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, along with a 1080p HD video playback, auto focus and HD video recording.

The connectivity features of the tablet includes HSPA+ (14.4 Mbps) and Wi-Fi connectivity. The Android 3.2 will have the same features and functionality as of 3.1 Android, but will be optimized for the 7-inch display.

However, this is not the first tablet that has been released by Huawei. The company had unveiled another 7-inch Android tablet which is called as the Ideos S7 Slim. The Ideos is powered by Android 2.2 (Froyo). One is not sure if the MediaPad would manage to pick up in the market, where other companies have already launched their tablets. Besides, there are reports of the tablets facing difficulty to attract customers. The company is yet to reveal the price of the upcoming tablet.
