Asia Bizz: CEO of Nokia, Stephen Elop unveiled a new smart phone of the company ‘N9’ which will be based on the MeeGo software. The announcement was made by Elop at an industry conference in Singapore, which was held this week.

The company has also announced that it will be launching its first Windows Phone Device this year, which will be shipped in the year 2012. The N9 will have a new design, where instead of the home key, it will have swipe.

The company in statement had said that the swipe will take you out when ever you are inside an application. The N9 model will have unique finger swipe, through which the phone can be navigated.

The new Nokia will be available in cyan, black and magenta colors in a polycarbonate design. The N9 is all set to hit the stores in India by the end of this year. The pricing of the phone will be announced as the launch dates approaches. Meanwhile, Nokia is also launching three affordable phones which will have the features of Nokia maps, internet and messaging in both single as well as dual SIM options. Mary McDowell, the head of Nokia’s mobile phones business unit has said that the phones will have maps, web and messaging experience all in one device.
