Asia Bizz: The Indian unit of the auto manufacturer Ford, launched the Fiesta sedan in the Indian market. The Ford Fiesta gasoline version was launched at the starting price of Rs. 8,23,500 at the showrooms in New Delhi.

Looking at the growing demand for diesel cars, Ford also rolled out the diesel version of the Fiesta starting at Rs. 927,200. Managing director Michael Boneham of Ford India said at a news conference that they are very confident about the market in India.

With the rise of the middle class population and the rise in the income levels, the demand for the mid-sized sedans is increasing in Asia everyday. The Fiesta is produced in the facility at the southern port of the city of Chennai.

The factory in Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, India also produces the hatchback Figo, sports utility vehicle Endeavour and the lower priced Fiesta Classic sedan. The company has globally sold over a million of the Ford Fiesta since its launch. After plenty of promotional activities and marketing, the sedan has got many enthusiasts in the country. It has got a 1.5 litre engine in both petrol and diesel variant. The petrol variant gives an average of 17 kms per litre, while the diesel variant delivers 23.5 kms per litre.
