Asia Bizz: Despite being dropped by the company, Hewlett Packard’s TouchPad has turned out to be the best seller. The sales of the TouchPad increased after the retailers drastically decreased the price of the product.

HP had to just stop the production and drop it, which had made it the best sellers in the global market. Over the weekend, Best Buy had reduced the price of the TouchPad from $399 to $99 of the 16 GB and $499 to $149 for the 32 GB version of the TouchPad.

Moreover, even the official website of HP had reduced the price of the TouchPad to $99. The reduction of the price of the tablet was just enough to attract the customers to take the advantage of the massive price cut.

HP had taken the harsh decision to drop the tablet from the market, a mere six weeks after the tablet was launched. The tablet was criticized for the slowness of the interface, which the company had somehow managed to fix with the help of the software update. HP had also announced that it would stop making products based on the WEBOS operating system. Earlier, the company had high hopes with the WEBOS software. It had also said that the company would install webOS in all the desktops and computers in 2012.
