Asia Bizz: India Yamaha Motors (IYM) has launched the new upgraded R15 2.0 entry level sports bike in India, in addition to that, the company officials believe to witness a 40% growth in sales this year. IYM predicts that around 5.2 lakh vehicles could be sold in the coming year, especially in the 150CC segment.
Currently, Yamaha’s 150CC segment share rests at 15%, and it is looking forward to increase this in the second half the year to 20%. Meanwhile, there was flutter among the young crowd of the Asian country after the R15 2.0 was unveiled, as it was much awaited.
The company has worked on upgrading the motorcycle to a higher standard. It has been reported there is a brand new revamped ECU in the motorcycle, plus a better and stronger axle shaft in the rear. Larger tyres in the front and the rear, LED lights, split seats and lighter frame. Even though the company did not work on a higher capacity engine, there are lots of promises from this particular machine.
The new Yamaha R15 2.0 has been priced at Rs.1.07 lakhs ex-showroom New Delhi.
