Asia Bizz: Renault Koleos SUV has been launched in the Indian market on Thursday with a price tag of Rs. 23 lakhs. Renault SA’s newly launched car stands in competition with the Toyota Fortuner, BMW X1 and Mitsubishi Outlander. The French auto maker is reported to have a vision to expand its business in India at a faster pace – a country which is the third largest car market in Asia.
The SUV will be handed over to customers in a span of ten days from its launch. Renault stated the SUV section in India is booming at the rate of 120%, which is really lucrative. After the launch of Fluence, the Renault Koleos is the second SUV to make it on Indian soil.
The Koleos will not be assembled in the country for now, but it is expected to be imported directly from France or South Korea in the form of kits to be assembled in Chennai. It has a 4X4 2.0ltr diesel engine, that pumps 150bhp with a six speed automatic transmission.
