Asia Bizz: Force India bigwig Vijay Mallya believes that his F1 team, Force India, has the ability to beat rival team Renault at the constructors championship ratings this year. Recently, the racing team gave its best performance of the season on the circuit at Singapore, where Paul di Resta finished 6th and Adrian Sutil ended on the 8th spot.
Television stakes are taking its toll and Mallya, along with his team, have sought this as an opportunity to deliver the best in the remaining races of the season. Mallya also confronted his team by telling them that the whole process of managing the team financially is tough for him and they would need to do the best with all the available resources.
Mallya told the reporters that they would need to perform very well on all types of tracks if they need to be somewhere on the constructors championship ratings. Even accepting the fact that Force India does not in fact have the financial rut as the other teams in Formula 1, its their attitude on the track and with the car that forms the basis of their success.
The news of Force India comes close on the heels of Mallya’s announcement that Kingfisher Red – his low-caost airline line – would be shutting down in four months time.
