Asia Bizz: After launching its sedan Fluence in the luxury segment, auto giant Renault has launched its SUV Koleos in the same segment on September 27, 2010. The SUV has been launched in the state of Andhra Pradesh at Hyderabad, India.

Renault has said that it has further plans to launch a small car as well as two new models in the Indian market by the end of the year 2012. Len Curran, the vice president of sales and marketing of Renault has said that they have plans to launch five more cars in the market by the end of the year 2012.

Some of the earlier reports stated that the company had entered the Indian market while joining hands with Mahindra and Mahindra. But later in April 2010, the company came out of the joint-venture and went solo in the Indian market with its sedan Fluence in the month of May.

Curran added that they are confident about their products so as to cater the needs of the customers who are looking for a premium SUV. The company has made a major decision by launching the car in the Indian market before any other country in the world. This has shown how important the country’s market is for the company.
