Asia Bizz: Korean car manufacturer Hyundai has launched its much awaited Eon in the Indian market for the small car segment on 13th October 2011. The car manufacturer has launched the car at the starting price of Rs. 2.7 lakh and has posed a direct threat all the other models in the same segment in India.
India has a huge car market for hatchbacks and small cars and the introduction of Eon is going to be in direct competition to the best selling car Maruti Suzuki Alto. For seven years, the Alto has been dominating the small car segment.
The new Eon has a 814 cc engine and the exterior has been designed with the company’s new fluidic technology. The company has claimed that the car would deliver an average of 21.1 KMPL and would be available in six variants.
The Eon can be booked across any of the Hyundai showrooms with a booking amount of Rs. 20,000. The top end of the Eon is priced at Rs. 3.75 and would include features like driver airbag, music system, central locking, air conditioner, power windows and power steering. The customers can select from five colors – dark grey, vibrant red, brilliant white, midnight black and striking silver. The Eon will also be competing against the other small cars in the market like the Fiat Punto and Ford Figo.
