Asia Bizz: After the launch of the world’s cheapest tablet on 5th October, the sequel of the tablet will soon be launched. The new improved version of Aakash is expected to be launched in the month of February 2012.

The new Aakash – 2 will be available at the price of the version 1 at Rs, 2,276. The India Institute of Technology, Rajasthan has already finalized the improvements for the new tab.

India’s HRD minister Kapil Sibal has said that they expect to launch the new version of Aakash by January of February next year. Since the launch of the world’s cheapest tablet, Sibal has been receiving overwhelming response from the world.

The new improved version of Aakash will be based on the feedback of those who have used Aakash – 1. The users are from the IITs and the other institutes. The new Aakash will have a 800 MHz processor compared to the 366 MHz processor. The new improvements in the tablet are expected to make the processing faster and would enable faster downloading of videos from YouTube. One of the seniors who heads the team of Aakash has said that the new improvements would increase the functionality of the tablet and will also be more competitive amidst the existing tablets in the market.
