Asia Bizz: Indian auto giant Tata Motors is now planning to bump up the sales of its small car Nano. The company has planned to increase the sales of the car to 10,000 units a month in a year.

The Managing director of Tata Motors, Prakash M Telang, said that the festive season demand has seen a very good response. Telang added that they are quite confident that the monthly sales of the Nano could hit 10,000 even before 2012 ends.

Even during the festive season, Tata Motors had reported a boost in the sales of the car Nano. One of the dealers of Tata Motors stated that the sales of the car had hit 9,000 units in the month of September and also hit the 10,000 mark last month.

During the Diwali festival season, there was a heavy demand for the small car. The reason for the boost in the sales was due to the attractive financing options that were offered by the different finance institutes. Tata Motors has hopes to increase the sales especially in the rural market. Tata is now also looking at introducing the 2012 edition of Nano, which will have improved interiors. The 2012 edition will be made available by January 2012.
