Asia Bizz: Looking at the falling market share of Nokia in the Indian market, the company has now decided to introduce new handsets and also looking at the application developers to make Nokia popular again. Nokia is no looking for more application developers to its platforms, which the company claims offers the largest scales and also revenue potential.

D Shivakumar, the managing director of Nokia India stated at Nokia’s strategy summit last week that they would make all developers multi millionaires. The MD even gave the example of the success enjoyed by Twist Mobile in Indore, since their seven applications have got more than 19.3 million users in the last eight months.

Shivakumar added that he wants developers to be successful and profitable and also said that they are showing developers the market opportunity as they look at the consumer trend. The director also added that their insight would provide guidance to the developers on what to do and they would also ensure that the developers make some money.

Last year, Nokia decided to change over to the Windows platform for its smartphone devices and the Lumia series are the first phones offered on this platform. The pre-orders of the Lumia are now accepted by the company and is expected to hit the stores withing the next few days.
