Asia Bizz: The telecom companies in India are looking towards celebrities for gaining the consumer attention for the publicity of their products. The celebrities help the companies to gain the attention of the consumers for the brand promotion and Bollywood actor Imran Khan is the latest celeb to join the brand bandwagon.
Indian telecom company MTS has roped in Bollywood actor Imran Khan to be their brand ambassador. Khan has become the first celebrity for the company, in a deal that has been valued at Rs. 15 crores for three years.
The ‘Jaane Tu Jaane Na’ actor also endorses many other brands like Coca-Cola and Levi’s Denizen. Imran will now be the face of ‘Red Energy’, which is a program that will reach the youth.
Khan joins the list of celebrities like Anushka Sharma and Rannvijay Singh, who recently became the brand ambassadors for Reliance Communications. KWAN Entertainment Managing director Anirabh Das Blah said that in a time when there are so many telecom players in the market who are offering similar plans, brand ambassadors help the brand to connect with their consumers in a better way. The new brands in the market rope in celebrities according to their target group, while the old brands sign up with the new brand ambassadors with whom people can relate better.
