Asia Bizz: South Korean electronics company Samsung recently unveiled its Galaxy Tab 7.7-PC inch tablet with OLED display at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012) in Las Vegas, USA.The company said that the product will be available through the US mobile carrier Verizon Wireless.
This the first tablet of Samsung which uses organic light diodes, also known as OLED, which has better picture quality than LCD flat screens. The 7.7- inch tablet runs on Android 3.2 along with the TouchWiz software.
The new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is said to be the thinnest as well as the lightest in the tablet line of the company, which also includes the galaxy Tab 10.1. The device has been powered by 1.4 GHz dual core CPU with 16 GB storage space.
The features of the tablet PC include a 3 megapixel rear facing camera with flash and a 2 megapixel front facing camera. It is 7.89 mm thin and weighs just 0.75 pounds. The tab also has an IR port along its top horizontal edge, which works with Peel’s Smart Remote software. The device can also support Verizon’s 3G as well as 4G LTE networks. Till now, the company hasn’t assured of any upgrade to Android 4.0 which is only the drawback. Even though it has a slim body, it does not feel delicate and looks well built.
