Asia Bizz: Two wheeler giant TVS Motors announced its plans to re-launch one of its best selling motorcycles, ‘Victor’ in the Indian market. The announcement was made on January 10, 2012 and the new Victor will be launched in December 2012, apart from three more products in the year.
TVS is now planning to increase sales and is expected to increase its production capacity to 32 lakh units annually by the year 2013-14. For this reason, the company will invest an additional sum of Rs 160 crores.
HS Goindi, the president of the TVS Motor Company at the Auto Expo 2012, said that Victor will make a come back and that it is a good brand for the company since the brand equity of the product is still very strong.
Four years back, the Victor was taken back by the company and was replaced by Centra. Goindi added that at that time they thought of trying out a new model, but later realized that Victor still has customer demand. The Victor with a 125 cc engine will be among the four models to be launched in the Indian market. Another 125 cc bike and a 125 cc scooter will also be launched by the company.
