Asia Bizz: Samsung India announced on January 9, 2012, that BD Park has been made the new managing director of the company. Park will be responsible for looking after the Samsung India electronics, research and development, Samsung India software, Samsung India software centre and Samsung Electronics Lab.

The new managing director has also been given the responsibility of taking care of the R&D centre based in Noida in the national capital region. Park will also be in charge of  the company’s operations in the SAARC region.

The company released a statement in which it is mentioned that Park was previously the head of Mobile and IT Division at Samsung India as director, Mobile and IT. The statement further stated that Park will be taking his new role from January 10, 2012.

Earlier, Jung Soo Shin was the president and CEO for Samsung West Asia since February 2009. Park, along with his new role, will bring in 28 years of experience for the company. Sin has been moved to the Headquarters of the company in South Korea, but it has not been revealed what role he will be having at the headquarters.

In the year 2001, Park became the Director of the Mobile Export team. He also came as the Head of the Mobile and IT division in the year 2008.
