Asia Bizz: With the growing competition in the mobile phone market, Nokia has launched its Nokia Asha 200 and 300 dual SIM phones this January 2012. The phones launched by the Finnish mobile company aim to attract the younger generation.
The phones Nokia Asha 200, Asha 300 and X2-02 come with a 1Ghz processor. The Asha 200 and the Nokia X2-02 are priced at Rs. 4,349 and Rs 3,599 respectively.
The best thing about the new phone range is that it offers multiple SIM management and allows the user to personalize up to five SIM cards along with a easy Swap option. The easy swap option enables the user to insert the second SIM card without switching off the phone or removing the battery.
The Nokia 200 is the first QWERTY based dual SIM device and has a 2 megapixel camera. All the phones in the series are equipped with an in-built Nokia browser.
The Nokia 300 is a music phone and is priced at Rs. 7, 409. It has a 5 megapixel camera and also offers connectivity to the social networking sites.
TS Sridhar, the Nokia India director South Markets was asked the reason they launched phones in the touch and QWERTY category, to which he said that such phones are now becoming the most preferred handsets.
