Asia Bizz: Indian auto giant Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch its compact sedan 2012 Dzire in February 2012. The company has decided to roll out the compact sedan version of its most popular car Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire in the Indian market.
The new compact sedan is reduced to less than 4 meters in length due to which it becomes an advantage to the automakers to make it cheaper than before. But the case may not be so when it comes to the 2012 Dzire as MSIL is considering the new model as a substitute to the existing Dzire.
The Indian market has Mahindra Verito CS and Tata Manza CS in the compact sedan segment . The new Dzire has been designed on the new Swift platform and it will be available with the same K 12MVVT petrol engine and the D 13A DDiS diesel engine.
The petrol variant of the new Dzire will be available with auto transmission. For the particular model, MSIL has imported four speed auto torque unit converter from Japan. The interiors of the new compact sedan will be similar to that of the Swift Dzire and the dashboard and the door panel have been given a wood finish. The price of the new Dzire is yet to be disclosed.
