Asia Bizz: Korean auto giant Hyundai Motors  released its much awaited latest version of the i40 in the South Korean market on January 17 , 2012. The Hyundai i40 Saloon was released in the mid-sized sedan segment.

The new i40 Saloon has attractive looks and is 4.7 meters in length, 1.8meters in width and has a 2.0 litre GDi gasoline engine which has the capacity to deliver an average of 13.1 kmpl.

Hyundai Motors stated that it also has the diesel version of it, which has a 1.7 litre VGT engine with a fuel efficiency of 18 kmpl. The petrol as well as the diesel models come with 6 speed gear box.

The safety features of the new i40 include seven air bags in all the vehicle models and also next generation vehicle dynamic control. Hyundai, in a statement, said that the i40 is a new type of mid sedan with new designs which will appeal young drivers with the help of dynamic riving performance and high quality features. The car has been priced at 25.2 million won and 31.5 million won depending on the engine type and accessories. The company officials stated that they do not have any plans to introduce the vehicle in Europe or other overseas countries at present.
