Asi Bizz: German auto manufacturing giant Audi has recently recorded a sales growth of 39 percent with 667 units in the month of January 2012 in the Indian market. In 2011, the company sold 480 units in the corresponding period.

Michael Perschke the head of Audi India, said in a statement that irrespective of the current market condition, the company aims to sell 8,000 cars in the year 2012 and the new year has begun with a strong note. Perschke also said that they are confident about their target.

This year, the company plans at expanding its dealership in the country and will also be introducing seven new models by the end of 2012. The German car maker also aims to add ten more dealers to its current network of 15 this year.

Audi aims to reach smaller Indian circles like Bhopal, Nagpur, Goa and Lucknow. The introduction of the new models in the Indian market is likely to start with the new 2012 Audi TT followed by the new A4 and S6 in the first half of 2012. Audi is also planning to set up a new assembly line in Aurangabad in the state of Maharashtra for the Audi Q7 and Q3 SUVs which is all set to challenge its rivals in Mercedes Benz.
