Asia Bizz: Auto giant Fiat has launched the new models of its Linea and Punto for the Indian auto market on February 7, 2012. At the event, Tata Motors stated that the rising demand of diesel cars and Fiat’s focus on the variants has made it hopeful of achieving the targets.
The 2012 Linea and the 2012 Punto diesel versions come with power packed features including foldable seats, power windows and bright ivory and grey interiors. The new Linea has been priced between Rs 6.92 lakhs and Rs 9.32 lakhs, while the new Punto costs between Rs 4.89 lakhs and Rs 6.92 lakhs.
The new versions of the Linea and the Punto boast of higher ground clearance, along with a special kit that is expected to cost around Rs 13, 000 inclusive of labor charges. This year, the company aims to sell 20,000 units in the domestic market against the 18,000 in the year 2011.
The new Linea comes with a 1.3 litre Advanced Multijet Diesel and a 1.4 Fire Petrol. While the Fiat Punto has a 1.2 Fire Petrol, 1.4 Fire Petrol and a 1.3 Multijet Diesel, according to their versions. The new versions of the cars are better in terms of comfort, ride, safety and performance.
