Asia Bizz: China’s leading interactive entertainment media company, Shanda Interactive Entertainment Limited, has recently launched its Android-based customized smartphone operating system named Lezhong ROM. The new OS is based in Android 2.3.7 and the user interface provides optimized and re-designed functions.

The OS allows short messages, phone calls, media players and contacts. The OS also boasts about Shanda’s exclusive applications like the e-book platform Cloudary and also the Evernote style note syncing application Mknote.

The new OS by Shanda also supports various back up services. In terms of smartphone support, the OS can support many devices like Nexus One, ZTE V880, Nexus S, HTC Desire and many more such devices can be able to use the OS in the future.

The company is also reportedly developing its own smartphone and will be launching it in the month of March or April 2012. The new smartphone from the company will be adopting the similar sales methods and channels like the company’s e-book reader Bambook.
