Asia Bizz: In some good news for all bike enthusiasts, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is all set to launch its new sports bike CBR 159R in the Indian market in March 2012. The new CBR 150 R of the Japanese subsidiary is priced at Rs 1]000.
The new bike from Honda will be locking horns with Bajaj’s KTM Duke 200 which is priced at Rs 117,000. The new KTM Duke 200 bike was launched by Bajaj last month.
Honda’s CBR 150 R is the third offering from the company this year and will be competing with Bajaj and also the Yamaha R15. In terms of specifications, the new CBR has better ground clearance, better power, bigger dimension and bigger fuel tank than the Yamaha bike.
With the launch of the new CBR 150 R, the company hopes to sell more than 3,500 units within a month. Honda had even showcased the new bike at the Auto Expo 2012 held last month in New Delhi, where it received a strong response.
Moreover, the company also has in store a revamped version of its CBR 250R which will be launched later this month. Honda at present has a 14 percent market share on the two wheeler market in India.
