Telecom operator Bharti Airtel has recently confirmed that the Nokia Siemens Network will build and manage its TD-LTE network in Maharashtra circle. TD-LTE is a 4G mobile broadband technology that assists in delivering faster internet access and also supports video streaming along with high definition video conferencing.

The commercial TD-LTE services will be launched later this year and the Bharti Airtel subscribers in Maharashtra will have improved and consistent network coverage and faster response times. The TD-LTE network in the 2.3 GHz frequency band has been allocated by the Indian government for wireless access technologies.

The Nokia Siemens Networks will help in delivering the TD-LTE network and end the data user services, which will offer data speeds of up to 100 mega bits per second. Moreover, the company will be using its newly introduced and the industry’s first TD-LTE 6 pipes radio.

The CEO of Bharti Airtel, Sanjay Kapoor said that in the next five years the data will be the main thrust in India riding on the waves of 3G and 4G technologies. The Nokia Siemens Networks is one of the first companies to demonstrate TD –LTE on 2.3 GHz BWA spectrum India. The services were first delivered to its Bengaluru R&D facility in the year 2010.
