Asia Bizz: South Korean Electronic giant Samsung announced on on March 1, 2012 that it has developed an upgraded solution along with Microsoft. The upgraded server solution has been developed to provide the customers with a system of high level of performance as well as efficiency.
The new server solution is known as the ‘Green Server Solution’ that utilizes 20 nanometer class Double Data Rate 3 Memory chip of Samsung and solid state drives together with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and Hyper V. The new system helped in boosting the memory configurations twice as fast that consumed 50 percent less power.
The executive vice president of memory sales and marketing at Samsung, Hong Wan Hoon said that with the help of the Green Server Solution which combines the two companies, their customers can enjoy a high level of performance as well as efficiency in their server systems.
Wan Hoon added that Samsung will step up the collaboration with Microsoft and will continue to develop the green computing solutions for more effective levels of the IT investment. The earlier system of Samsung used 40 nanometer class DDR3 and a hard drive disk. The development has come five months after the collaboration of Samsung and Microsoft.
