Asia Bizz: South Korean electronics manufacturing giant Samsung has recently announced that it will be upgrading the Galaxy Note to Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich. The upgrade process is expected to begin during the second quarter of 2012.
On March 22, 2012, the company said that with fresh upgrades, it will also include new applications which will take the advantage of the digital pen.
Samsung stated that the upgrade will be distributed worldwide, but it refused to share any arrival dates.In the month of December, the company said that the product would be upgraded during the first quarter, but it has now been postponed to the second quarter.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note was launched in the month of September last year. Some of the features of the Note include 5.3 inch Super AMOLED display and can also be used as a smartphone or even as a smart notepad. The company also said that the digital S pen, which comes with the device, allows users to draw and write directly on the screen.
Apart from the Android 4.0, the Premium Suite will also include S Note. Samsung said that the S Note is an application which allows the user to combine their notes and sketches with other digital content. The best part is that the application comes with templates that are designed for meeting minutes and diary entries.
My Story is another application that is pen- enabled and allows the user to create cards for friends and family with the help of any type of content like video, notes, voice, pictures or text. For the Premium Suite, the latest version of Android is very important. Some of the interesting features of the Android 4.0 includes features like Face Unlock, which allows users to login with face recognition and Android Beam which can share content using the Near Field Communications technology.
