Asia Bizz: Japanese camera manufacturer Nikon has recently launched its new Nikon 1 line up for the Indian market. Earlier, there were reports that Nikon would not opt to enter the mirrorless-interchangeable lens camera market.

But now the company has put to rest all rumours and has launched J1 which is the entry level model and the V1 which is the elder sibling and is aimed towards the advanced users. The two new cameras by Nikon are similar in many aspects. Both feature the new ten megapixel camera and the one inch CX format sensor that outputs imaging data to a shared Expeed 3 processor. The Nikon 1 system also incorporates a proprietary 1 lens mount.

Moreover, the two new cameras also share the same focusing system, contrast detection method, a hybrid of phase and also allows the camera to acquire and track focus with great accuracy. Despite so many similarities, the two are very distinct cameras meant for different purposes. Here are the details of the Nikon’s 1 system camera along with their costs.
