Asia Bizz: South Korean company Samsung recently announced the launch of its ‘Value Pack’ for the Samsung Galaxy S in South Korea. The company has introduced the ‘Value Pack’ which will have some of the features of the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS).
Earlier reports said that the Galaxy S would receive the ICS update, but the company denied the reports and introduced the Value Pack instead. However, a leak of the pack was reported back in the month of January 2012 which gave users an idea of what to expect.
The company appealed that anyone using the Froyo or Eclair should update to Gingerbread before they install the new pack. With the new update, users will get the features like Face Unlock, Photo capture during video recordings, facility to adjust font size in certain applications and additions and improvements to the launcher, as well as folders.
In order to upgrade their devices, users need to have Kies 2.0 and also the necessary free space to install the update. Earlier the company also provided updates for the Galaxy K and Galaxy U phones.
As of now, Samsung has not given any idea of when the Value pack will be launched in other countries. The users might be disappointed for not getting the much awaited ICS update, but the new Value Pack has almost all the features of the ICS.
