Oriflame India, a fully-owned subsidiary of the 1.3-billion euro Swedish direct-selling company, will be adding 250 new products to its existing portfolio of 790 during this year. Oriflame is planning to appoint 50,000 sales consultants to take the figure up to 200,000 by the end of this year.

According to the Indian Direct Marketing Association, direct marketing is pegged at Rs 3,300 crore in India with 1.8 million sales consultants engaged in it. The market is projected to touch Rs 5,000 crore by 2012. Given this background,

The Oeiflame has been registering a double-digit growth in India, is eyeing to triple its domestic sales revenues in the next five years. India is one of the top three fastest growing markets for Oriflame. Revenue-wise, north India contributes 32 per cent to their sales while south accounts for 15 per cent. Oriflame is today amongst one of the fastest growing beauty companies in India. Recently, it tied up with Deepalaya, a Delhi-based non-governmental organization; through this tie-up Rs 2 on every sale of Oriflame lipstick will be donated to the latter to support the education of girl child. So far, the company has sponsored 1,000 girls.
