Asia Bizz: A Spice Jet flight with 106 passengers aboard left for Chennai on April 13, 2012, but had to make a precautionary landing in the morning, after the pilot reported a technical snag in the aircraft. The SG-281 flight took off from Ahmedabad and made a safe landing at the Mumbai Airport at 06:50 am.
The private airline revealed the details of tge incident in a statement saying, “It was a precautionary landing and in order to avoid inconvenience to the passengers on board the Ahmedabad-Chennai flight, we pro-actively accommodated them in our other flight and on other airlines as well,”.
The statement also added that the aircraft had a minor problem and is now fully operational. There was no emergency landing and all the 106 passengers along with the crew members are safe.
Meanwhile, the engineers of the aircraft are examining the plane and are expected to give their report soon. Officials from the Mumbai Airport said that there has been no disruptions of the regular flight operations at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai due to the incident. The flight took off from Ahmedabad at 5:45 am and the passengers were flown to Chennai at 11:30 am.
