Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia India, has announced partnership with telecom operators, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone. The new partnership will offer solutions from Nokia Store to the subscribers of the two telecom operators.

Sanjoy Mukherji, the chief commercial officer of Vodafone India said, “This will enable purchase of Nokia Store applications through an operator billing process. This would also offer significant monetisation opportunities to developers and galvanise local content development”. Local as well as global paid content can now be downloaded by the Airtel and Vodafone subscribers.

After purchasing the paid content they can pay for it through the monthly mobile phone bills or from the pre-paid balance. N Rajaram, the chief marketing officer of Bharti AIrtel said, “This partnership will strengthen our efforts to increase usage of mobile internet services”.

At the same time the Finnish mobile phone maker also announced the availability of ‘in-application’ billing solutions which allow the consumers to purchase digital content. The content can be purchased directly from the interface of the application. Viral Oza the Nokia India marketing director said they believe that their partnership with Vodafone and Airtel will provide more and more consumers easy access to the paid content on the Nokia store.
