After being arrested, YSR Congress Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy on May 29, 2012 moved to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) trial court for bail. Jagan has been arrested in connection with the disproportionate assets case.
The special CBI court on May 28 granted bail to 11 other people accused in the involvement in the illegal assets case. Jagan is amongst the 13 accused in the case of illegal assets and was arrested by the CBI on May 27, 2012.
The YSR Congress leader appeared in the special CBI court in response to the summons over the first charge sheet. People who appeared in the court included senior Administrative Service (IAS) officer BP Acharya, who is already in jail for his involvement in the Emaar APIIC township case.
Vijay Sai Reddy, the auditor of Jagan was not granted bail. While people who have been granted bail include, Nityananda Reddy, Srinivasa Reddy, Sarat Chandra Reddy, and the former company secretary of Aurobindo Pharma, Chandramouli. The court summons on Jagan and the other accused was served on May 14, 2012. Jagan was arrested on Sunday after he was question by the CBI for three days. The first charge sheet against Jagan was filed on March 30, 2012.
