In some good news for the global roamers, telecom company Vodafone India on June 26 announced hefty discounts for the global roamers to increase volumes and open new revenue streams. The new offer from Vodafone allows the customers international roaming services at 60% discounts for voice, data as well as SMS in a single pack.
The discount offer is application across 40 countries on the specific Vodafone partner networks. The new offer can be activated on a minimal one time rental of Rs. 1499 which comes with a validity of one month and will be charged in the customer’s bill.
The Vodafone subscribers can activate the pack by sending a text message ‘ACT VROAM’ to the toll free number 111 from the home network. Talking about how the discount works, if the Vodafone India customer roams in a partner network in Italy and makes called worth Rs. 10,000 then he will have to pay just Rs. 4,000 after a discount of 60%.
The company has also said that the usage is unlimited and after the expiry of 30 days the subscribers can reactivate the global roaming pack. Moreover, the customer can also activate the global roaming facility after reaching the abroad destination as long as it has a partner mobile network.
